What are Zebra Quests?
The above quote is seen in my classroom and heard at various times throughout the year. Dr. Seuss provided much wisdom in his writing and this is one of my favorites. A child is required to learn how to read and write. They are taught math, science, and history. They are exposed to the arts and taught how to be a good citizen. All the basics for a great education but there is still so much more to know!
Going beyond Zebra is discovering more than just the basics. It is a lifelong thirst for learning, a quest for knowledge, and an adventure! Unfortunately, there is not enough time in class to discover all we wish we could.
This website is designed to help your student go beyond the basics. To continue learning outside of the classroom and long after the lights have been turned off and the doors locked. Learning does not just take place in a classroom, it takes place wherever we go!

How do Zebra Quests Work?
Students will choose one of the educational challenges to complete outside of the classroom. Students must complete any quest of their choosing, their is no order for completion. Zebra Quests review important concepts from previous years, topics in the third grade curriculum, and for a real challenge, concepts from upper elementary and Middle School too! The student will research their responses to ensure accuracy using a computer, books, notes, etc. All challenges responses MUST be memorized. Students will complete a Zebra Quest Challenge Form upon completion and submit it to the Zebra box. No resources may be used when filling out the challenge form. If correct, students will receive 1 punch on their Zebra card. After 25 completed quests, they are inducted into the hall of fame (forever!).
